The SC Phil presents the third annual Music in My Neighborhood festival April 13-18, 2026 in Cayce/West Columbia.


Music in My Neighborhood is an immersive community program from the South Carolina Philharmonic that brings a week of free ensemble performances, educational programs, and unique collaborations to a Midlands neighborhood. The SC Phil presents the third annual Music in My Neighborhood program in Cayce/West Columbia from April 13th through 18th, 2026.

Included in the program are interactive school visits to: Fulmer Middle School, Busbee Creative Arts Academy, Airport High School, Northside Middle School, and Brookland-Cayce High School. Additionally, the SC Philharmonic will visit Laurel Crest Retirement Community, Still Hopes Retirement Community, and Lexington Medical Center for Healing Harmonies programs.

SC Phil Steel Band w/ Chris Lee
Don’t miss the Chamber Crawl at Steel Hands Brewing. Join the SC Phil Steel Band, led by Principal Percussionist Chris Lee, for a high-energy night of music you won’t forget. Come hang out, enjoy great vibes, and feel the rhythm.

String Quartet - “Soulful Strings”
Join us at the café from 11:00 AM–1:30 PM to enjoy a special performance by the SC Phil quartet, Soulful Strings. As you gather for food, fellowship, and music, please know that all proceeds from the café directly support local outreach efforts, helping to make a lasting impact right here in our community.

Flute and Harp - “Duet in the Stacks”
Music in My Neighborhood brings ‘Duet’ in the Stacks to the Cayce-West Columbia Library featuring SC Phil musicians John Wickey (harp) and Wendy Cohen (flute).

Come browse, read, and hang out while enjoying live music woven right into your library experience!

Cello - “Pajama Storytime”
Education & Outreach Director Susan Cafferty and cellist Heidi Carey will present I Know a Young Fellow Who Swallowed a Cello—complete with special sound musical effects!

Come listen, laugh, and learn a little bit about the cello in this engaging read-aloud experience for all ages.

The program will feature programs at local businesses, schools, healthcare centers, and libraries. This project is supported by the City of Cayce and a Connected Communities Grant from Central Carolina Community Foundation.
