Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Margie Moore began playing the violin at the age of eleven and began her formal training at the age of fourteen with Micah Gangwer, assistant concertmaster of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance under Dr. Ari Streisfeld at the University of South Carolina where she is also a member of the Honors College. 

Margie has also won several competitions, including the Charleston School of the Arts Concerto Competition and the Charleston Chamber Music Intensive Concerto Competition where she performed as a soloist with the Saint-Saens No.3 and Mozart No.4 violin concertos. She was also concertmaster of the Charleston School of the Arts Sinfonietta that performed without a conductor and won first place in the National Orchestra Festival.

Currently, Margie is the Principal Second Violin of the Aiken Symphony, Co-Concertmaster of the USC Symphony, section violin in the South Carolina Philharmonic, and regularly performs with the Long Bay Symphony. Formerly, she served as the concertmaster of the Lake Murray Symphony, the Charleston School of the Arts, and the Charleston Symphony Youth orchestras.
