Registration for The Orchestra Sings!

The program for 2020

Since 2012, South Carolina 3rd through 5th graders have learned that the orchestra moves, rocks, and swings. They'll learn that it also SINGS as the S.C. Phil presents the Carnegie Hall program The Orchestra Sings!

Melody is one of the universal elements of music. Composers and musicians create melodies, which can be sung or played on instruments. The orchestra sings when its musicians play melodies on their instruments. Through the Link Up repertoire, hands-on activities, and a culminating interactive performance with a professional orchestra, we will discover how the orchestra sings.

Admission: $5.25 per person. Groups of 200+ are $4.75 per person.

The South Carolina Philharmonic partners with Carnegie Hall’s Weill Institute to present The Orchestra Sings!, an interactive experience for students in grades 3-5, in February 2020.

Young people in the audience will actually sing and play their recorder along to the music of the orchestra. This year's program explores how composers and orchestras us melodies to sing, drawing on selected orchestra repertoire. Link Up provides a unique opportunity to connect classroom learning with a live performance. The optional curriculum will be available beginning in September 2019 and includes a host of musical selections from famed composers!
