There's more to the South Carolina Philharmonic than meets the ear!
Our mission is to broaden the public awareness and enjoyment of symphonic music.
For example, we visit and perform for elementary, middle and high school students to help expand educational music programs. Our Youth Orchestra program serves more than 200 young instrumentalists. And we are always on the lookout to collaborate with other local arts groups to reach broader and more diverse audiences.
The fact is, ticket sales alone are not enough to keep the orchestra playing.

Why is your gift important?
- One concert during the S.C. Philharmonic's Master Series costs an average of $50,000 just to put on stage.
- Ticket sales only account for about 35% of our total revenue.
- More than 64% of the orchestra's budget must come from Annual Fund gifts, sponsorships, grants and other contributions.
