MEDIA CONTACT 08 APRIL 2008 "Tides of Change" Brings Beach Party to Columbia COLUMBIA, S.C. – Midlands residents should watch for rising tides when the South Carolina Philharmonic holds “Tides of Change,” a beach music fundraising party Thursday, May 8 at 7 p.m. in Columbia’s Sterling Hall. “Tides of Change” is the 2008 version of the Philharmonic’s annual spring fundraising event. The party this year harkens a big beach blast with an array of tempting beach food and beverages, games and live music from Dick Goodwin’s Rockin’ Beach Band. A silent auction will also take place during the party. Proceeds from the party and silent auction will benefit the S.C. Philharmonic. The party is being held at Sterling Hall, 320 Senate Street in Columbia’s Vista. Sterling Hall is operated by Dupre Dukes Signature Catering, the providers of the evening’s food and beverages. Guests can expect tantalizing favorites like shrimp and grits, fried fish in foil, “cheeseburgers in paradise,” sweet potato chips with aioli, a fire pit for s’mores, dipped ice cream, margaritas and a selection of iced beers. The sounds of Dick Goodwin’s Rockin’ Beach Band will allow guests to shag the evening away as the live ensemble performs favorites throughout the evening. Additional entertainment includes a variety of games and a silent auction, featuring several exclusive items such as trips, memberships to area health clubs, gift certificates to Columbia restaurants and much more. Tickets to “Tides of Change” are $100 per person and include food, drinks and games.
