SCP ensemble heads to Lexington for free concert

The South Carolina Philharmonic continues the popular “Where in the Midlands is Morihiko?” concert series in Lexington Wednesday, March 23 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Flight Deck Plaza.

A brass quintet made up of SCP musicians is to perform. The outdoor concert is free and open to the public. Dining options offering outdoor seating surround the area where the quintet will perform.

“Where in the Midlands is Morihiko?” is an outreach initiative of the SCP funded by the Pierrine & Hootie Johnson Fund through the Central Carolina Community Foundation. A $10,000 grant allows Music Director Morihiko Nakahara and small ensembles of SCP musicians to venture into the community to perform free, one-hour public concerts around the Midlands leading up to each 2010/2011 Masterworks Series concert.
