Third annual Tasting Notes to raise funds for S.C. Phil

The high-end wines and gourmet food selections of Tasting Notes will raise money again for the South Carolina Philharmonic from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at the S.C. State Museum.

In 2015, wine and food lovers can expect to taste more than 50 high-end wines from around the world and indulge in tempting fare from 16 of the Midlands’ finest restaurants, all for just $75 per person. Guests can purchase the wine they’ve tasted that evening and bid on specialty wines.

Featured wines include varieties from Banfi, Darioush, King Estate and St. Supery. Restaurants providing food selections include:
  • 116 Espresso & Wine Bar,
  • Ally & Eloise Bake Shop,
  • Bourbon Columbia,
  • Blue Marlin Steaks & Seafood,
  • Gervais & Vine,
  • The Melting Pot,
  • Miyo's, M. Grille, M. Vista,
  • Michael’s Café & Catering,
  • Ms. B's Southern Kitchen,
  • Motor Supply Co. Bistro,
  • The Oak Table,
  • Pearlz Oyster Bar,
  • Ristorante Divino,
  • Thirsty Fellow Pizzeria & Pub,
  • and Travinia Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar.
Beer lovers can enjoy additional beverage options from River Rat Brewery, and First Citizens Café will offer post-“meal” coffee.

The sounds of the Reggie Sullivan Quartet and Dreher High Steel Band will lend to the lively atmosphere, situated in a spacious new layout at the S.C. State Museum. Outside, The Cigar Box will sell cigars in a special lounge area. The Tasting Notes silent auction features the carefully curated specialty wines, vacation packages, artwork, and more. Southern Valet will provide complimentary valet parking and, for guests who need the service, Checker Yellow Cab will be on site to provide safe rides home.

Tasting Notes set high marks for income supporting the orchestra and attendance in 2014, doubling its financial impact on the S.C. Phil’s Masterworks Series and educational programs in its second year. Tasting Notes is a business casual event, and wine and food selections are included in admission. Tickets can be purchased here or by calling S.C. Phil Audience Services at 803.254.PHIL (7445).

The S.C. Phil also offers guests a chance to join the Host Committee for $125 per person. Sponsorship opportunities for individuals or businesses are available as well. For more information, call 803.771.7937.
