Danielson extended as SCP president

The South Carolina Philharmonic Board of Directors is announcing a two-year term extension for Board President William Danielson.

The extension is a result of a recent suggestion from the League of American Orchestras aimed at increasing leadership stability among its more than 850 member orchestras nationwide. Danielson (right) began a two-year term as president July 1, 2011 that will now run until June 30, 2015.

A principal at Danville Business Advisors, LLC in Columbia, Danielson began board service with the SCP in 2006. Additionally, he serves on the boards of the Babcock Center and Glenforest School and is a member of the Lake Murray/Irmo Rotary Club. Previous service includes the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce, where he was chairman in 2007. The University of South Carolina-Aiken named Danielson a distinguished alumnus in 2008. He resides in Lexington.
