Auditions for the 2010/2011 season of the South Carolina Philharmonic will be held in Columbia, SC:

• University of South Carolina School of Music, Room 006 (lowest level of the building);
• Street address: 813 Assembly St; Columbia, SC 29201

FOR SUBSTITUTE MUSICIANS – ALL INSTRUMENTS

• Tuesday evening, Aug. 31, 2010
• APPLICATION DEADLINE Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 by 5 PM

Should a current member of the SCP win any of the Titled Positions listed, the position vacated might be offered as a result of this audition.

ALL APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO DEMONSTRATE EITHER U.S. CITIZENSHIP OR A LEGAL ELIGIBILITY TO ACCEPT EMPLOYMENT WITH THE SC PHILHARMONIC.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WITH F-1 VISAS WHO DO NOT HAVE WORK PERMITS SHOULD CHECK WITH THEIR ACADEMIC ADVISOR AND THE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS OFFICE REGARDING CURRICULAR PRACTICAL TRAINING.

The South Carolina Philharmonic is a per-service orchestra. The 2010/2011 season will include up to 43 services. Per service rates are:

• Section Strings $60.00
• Associate Principal Strings & Non-Principal Winds $66.00
• Senior Assistant Concertmaster & Principal Musicians $75.00
• Musicians residing more than 35 miles from Columbia, SC receive mileage allowances.
