Major General Robert B. Solomon was a volunteer, board member and interim executive director instrumental to enhancing the fiscal stability of the orchestra during the mid-1990s. Each year, two outstanding individuals are chosen by the Philharmonic to receive the award in recognition and appreciation for volunteerism.
